If you need me I'll be drunk and crying in the corner.

F*uck you Micheal Bay.
I bet most of you already know what this is about, don't worry, I'll be quick.  This man has decided that raping the Transformers, and putting that douche Shia LaBeouf in a leading role, is not enough of a crime.  No, this twat has to take motherf*cking TMNT and remove most of the damn letters.
How you ask, by making them aliens.  This removes the mutant and turtle parts of the title.  It prolly also takes care of the teenage part as who really knows how old a bunch of aliens are supposed to be.  Removing and replacing we get something like "Alien Ninja Turtle-like Creatures of Indeterminate Age", not quite as catchy.
But wait, there's more!  As ninja are earth based whatever form of martial arts these aliens practice is certainly different, unless he decides they've been trained by watching old movies broadcast into space, like Stifler in that one movie whose name escapes me right now, except for the space bit.
So the movie should be titled, *breath* "Alien Martial-Artist-Similar-to-Nijutsu Turtle-like Creatures of Indeterminate Age".  Tots pumped.
In closing, I would actually prefer to have Uwe Boll make this movie because then no one would see it, it would be a low budget piece of crap and it would be quickly forgotten.  But because Michael Bay is making it it will be a well-received, but (hopefully) critically panned, blockbuster.  Plus, if Uwe Boll did it there would be no chance of sequels or Shia LaBeouf.

Let's see, new stuff... hmmm, well I got second at the judo tournament this past weekend.  It was only out of 4 people though so I can't be too happy.  The tournament was double elimination and I barely won my first match, it was against the brown belt who won our division.  The next match wasn't as bad, and I would love to give you some details about it, but I can't really remember much of the first two matches, just a blur of pushing and throwing.  My first match, also known as 215 and up finals take one, I managed to lose quickly and painlessly.  I came in with a shoulder throw, didn't get it and got dropped to my back as I came out of it to end the match.  The next match, 215 and up finals take 2, took longer and I ended up rolling during a few throws to prevent my opponent getting the win.  He ended up getting enough points anyone and winning with a throw that more or less dropped me on my head.
Getting to the tournament was a bit more trouble than I thought.  I had to take my Praxis 2 chemistry content test that morning, little did I know that it would take 45 minutes from the time we were all supposed to be there to actually start my test.  The test itself went well and there were few questions on which I had any problems.  But I still ended up at the tournament about a half-hour later than I had expected.
Just yesterday I got to take more tests with 3 of my finals all happening on Tuesday.  I think I did well in spec but the pchem and pchem lab finals killed me, I am about 90% sure that I failed at least one of those classes, and I kinda need to pass them now if I'm going to graduate on time.  Of course at this point "on time" is a bit of a joke anyway.

Judo tournament this saturday!!  I'm f*cking pumped.  Of course I can't get to excited, still have a couple of (late) lab reports to do and I'm taking my Praxis right before the tournament.
On an even better note, next week is my finals and I should be done on Tuesday, so with the rest of that week and spring break being the next, I get a full week and a half to do nothing but play Skyrim, go me.
Oh, and as for interesting stuff, I'm about halfway through this book, Hater by David Moody, and it is damn enjoyable.  The basic idea is that people just start freaking out and trying to kill anyone and everyone around them.  It shows this throu-... you know what?  I really suck at describing things, so just trust me on this, give it a read if you get the chance.

I am really hating this uv-vis spectrophotometer.  It's giving me some absurd readings.  They're coming out as pretty much just noise.  And that's with it set to average out 1 second of readings per nm and then smooting the graph as much as the program will allow.
For anyone interested, this is part of my undergrad research.  I'm attempting to determine the absorbance of a thin film of P3HT:PCBM 50:50 by weight.  This is done as part of research into organic solar cells.
Anybody have some insight?

Skyrim

So I bought Skrim off a friend about a week ago, worst decision I've made in quite some time.  This game is too good.  Finals are next week and I should really be focusing on that, but do I?  No, I sit and play Skyrim, for hours.
The game is all kinds of fun, but don't get it if you have anything you'd like to do in the next couple weeks to a month, depending on amount of (previously) free time you have.

judo was all kinds of fun today.  learned a new throw that doesn't require you to square your base, it feels more comfortable than many of the others.  i need to get it down quick though, tournament coming up on the 10th.

wow, 2 posts in as many days, i feel all accomplished and such.  procrastinating again, this time i have a lab report due tomorrow as well as p-chem homework due friday.  blah.
as far as good news goes, i'm getting together the documentation necessary for me to graduate in the spring, so i'll finally be done with college, yay me.
well, i guess i won't really be done as i hope to teach and that means i need some more schooling, the plan is one year of grad school, with a semester, or maybe 2 i'm not quite sure, of student teaching in there.  however, i feel like a masters in education has got to be easier than the last year of a bachelors in chemistry so it will still be nice.
